As of April 1st, 2019, there will be increases to some of the fees payable in a family court case. Most, but not all, of these fees are related to divorce applications.
There is also an increase for the financial eligibility ceiling for someone wishing to seek a waiver of family court fees.
For a household of 1 person, the maximum income has increased from $24,000 to $31,200. For a household of two, the increase is from $36,000 to $46,800; for three from $42,000 to $54,000, for 4 from $50,400 to $64,800 and for a household of 5 or more, the increase is from $58,800 to $75,600.
