Toolkit on the law and parenting arrangements after separation

Posted in Uncategorised

If you are a woman with children and you are leaving a relationship in which your partner has been abusive to you, our new toolkit will help you seek safe arrangements for the children.

The toolkit is free and provides information about how the laws have recently changed. These changes mean the terms “custody” and “access” are no longer used. There is also a new definition of family violence that is to guide family court judges as they decide what is best for children after parents separate.

Like Family Court and Beyond, this toolkit includes checklists and other tools to support you with family court documents. Always keep any documents related to your case in a safe place the abusive person or your children can’t access.
