Webinar: Relationships, rights & responsibilities

Posted in Uncategorised

A woman living with her common law partner for many years may think she has equal right to their property, but that might not be the case. There are significant differences in legal rights and responsibilities depending on whether people are married or living common-law.

This webinar explores different kinds of intimate relationships, with a particular focus on what the relationship type can mean for someone who has an abusive partner. We also look at how people can craft their own agreements about how they wish to treat one another, which are called “domestic contracts”.

This webinar is another in the series on family law issues when there’s family violence presented by Luke’s Place in partnership with CLEO, with support from The Law Foundation of Ontario.
